Highly Caffeinated Coffee Shootout Part 1

Keywords: #coffee #caffeine #part-1 #highly caffeinated

This marks the beginning of my as-objective-as-possible, scientific-esque method based review of five of the most caffeinated coffees on the market. It should prove to be interesting. I’ll be going through several different brewing methods over several weeks to do this. I have to make this coffee last, it wasn’t cheap!

The coffees, of which I’ll be partaking, are pictured below.

Coffee Bags

From left to right, with caffeine content per 12oz serving:

  • Black Label - Devil’s Mountain Coffee Company - 1,555mg
  • Original - Very Strong Coffee - 1,350mg
  • Black Insomnia - Black Insomnia Coffee Company - 1,105mg
  • Biohazard Coffee - Biohazard Coffee - 928mg
  • Death Wish Coffee - Death Wish Coffee Company - 728mg

Starting off, I’ll make each one in a French Press. Next, I’ll likely do a cold-brew with each. I’m really looking forward to that. I enjoy a good cold-brew. The real stars of the show, as far as caffeine content is concerned, are going to be the last brewing methods I use which will be Cowboy and Turkish. If I find any other worthwhile methods to brew on my journey, I’ll incorporate them if they are significantly different from any of the other methods.
